Steve Wyatt – 30 years in broadcast journalism

Steve Wyatt is a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Awards from both the Jack Webster Foundation and the Radio Television News Directors Association in B.C.

Steve Wyatt has spent more than thirty years in broadcast journalism.  As the Senior Vice- President of news and information programming for Global Television Network from 2003 until 2008 he was responsible for news departments in 14 local television stations across Canada, and for the growth and development of the award winning Global National.

Steve began his career as a reporter and producer at BCTV in 1978 and later worked as a senior news producer at both CBC and CTV network headquarters in Toronto.  He returned to B.C. in 1989 to become a senior producer of news at CKVU/U.TV  and in 1994 returned to BCTV (later Global BC) where he was appointed News Director in 1998.

In 2000 he became Global’s General Manager for B.C. Broadcast Operations, including CHEK TV, CHBC, and Global BC.

Steve is a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Awards from both the Jack Webster Foundation and the Radio Television News Directors Association in B.C.  He is currently a partner in Prime Time Communications and Consulting Inc.
