Lauren Campbell always has had a creative bent to her. At the tender age of four she started dancing. In her late teens she went to acting school. And today at age 32 she still is acting even though she does not get paid for most of her work.
She has the bug – that driving passion to be that consummate actor, no matter the odds she is facing.
Amy Starkey, a director and actor, who has worked with Campbell says this of her:
“…she constantly amazes me with her commitment to craft and character. She approaches her work with no ego, simply doing what needs to be done. And the result is an ability to find the truth in every moment. She is mesmerizing on screen, and soon, everyone is going to know it.”
Campbell has performed a vast array of roles in theatre productions in Vancouver and throughout Metro Vancouver. She has TV and film credits from productions in both Canada and the US. In 2015, she was awarded Best Female Actor at the Theatre B.C. North Shore Zone Festival for her portray of Roberta in John Patrick Shanley’s, Danny And The Deep Blue Sea. For the past three years, Lauren has also been working with Project Limelight, a free theatre program for kids who are driven to perform. Besides acting, Lauren has a diverse range of experience as a director, producer, teacher and choreographer.
