IKEA taking back old furniture.
And customers in return for turning in their old furniture get a voucher for future purchases at IKEA.
It’s a new trial service.
The new service is an attempt by IKEA to become more sustainable.
“Sustainability is at the heart of the IKEA business. At IKEA Tempe, we’re committed to creating a more sustainable future. Caring for your most prized possessions is something we all try our utmost to do, and here at IKEA Tempe, we’re no exception. Whether you want to breathe new life into unwanted items, or part ways with them for good, we’re here to help.”
IKEA taking back old furniture encourages customers to recycle unwanted goods and help the local community.
Here is how the new IKEA program works:
” If you don’t want your IKEA products any more, and they are still in good condition, consider bringing them back to IKEA. Allowing you to up cycle your unwanted goods instead of throwing them away and minimising the contribution to landfill. If your item(s) qualifies for this service, we will reward you by providing you with a voucher to be spent at IKEA Tempe.
“Don’t have a car to bring your item back to store? No problem. We have also partnered with GoGet during this pilot period to offer our customers free* two-hour access to a GoGet vehicle to return the product to IKEA.
“And it doesn’t stop there. You can also learn how to breathe new life into old materials and learn new DIY skills through our free in-store workshops. Learn a new skill and move towards a more sustainable life.”
