A Tamara painting.

Tamara has taken up painting. And here is another one of hers.
Here is one more of her paintings

Broadcaster Tamara Stanners a gentle tough soul copes no matter what comes her way.

Stanners recently dealt with tragedy, pain, and suffering none of us can imagine.

Let alone deal with it.

But it was her abiding love and faith that carried her through

Two of her children were beset with horrible tragedies.

Her daughter Samantha, 17, was horribly burned at a campfire.

Her son Charley, 22, developed meningitis.

It was the year from hell.

But Tamara pulled through and so did both of her children.

Stanners has been part of Canada’s broadcasting scene for more than three decades.

Her work in radio and television has seen her host country radio and television shows.

Anchor news programs.

Her last major broadcasting gig was at 102.7 the PEAK, a Vancouver rock radio station.

Tamara stepped away from her duties at the PEAK in 2016.

Currently she is running her own freelance voiceover and consulting business.

She also hosts a podcast – ‘Relate Podcast by Zendesk’.

In my interview with her she talks about:

That horrifying day when her daughter was burned a campfire.

The day her son developed meningitis.

How she coped through it all.

How she rose from it all.

What she learned from it.

How her hippie style philosophy has carried her through life.

The challenge of organizing and producing a big new music festival for about 7,500 people next year in Squamish.

And what she does when those dark clouds hit her.

How life often has taken her to unexpected  paths.

About her son Charley, now following his passions.

How music helped her daughter Sammy recover.

That a lot of people think she is naive and crazy.

And today living away from the hurley burly of Vancouver in the tranquil setting of her house in Brackendale, outside Squamish, Tamara has discovered a dream come true.

And how the terrible tragedy that befell Sammy got her to do something.

It was amazing and inspiring.

She recorded a song – The Phoenix – under artist moniker Valor Grey.

Tamara Stanners – a woman of true grit, full of compassion and love, navigating the world around her no matter what it brings.
