Peter Robbins An Excellent Adventurer

Peter Robbins is an excellent adventurer.

Peter Robbins is an excellent adventurer.

He loves to travel.

He loves being an actor.

He loves trying new things.

For Peter Robbins life is an excellent adventure.

He is retired.

Retirement for some means giving up – sitting at home, watching television and bemoaning the good old days and let’s not forget, complaining of what is wrong with the world

But for other it is the time for excellent adventures – time to explore new horizons, time to challenge oneself.

And that’s Peter Robbins to a T.

He defies the conventional wisdom of what retirement means and is all about.

For starters he is not on social media.

No Facebook or Twitter accounts.

Instead he does his own thing.

He follows his passions.

And once again he defies convention.

Robbins does not fit the stereotype of what an actor and creative person is all about.

For starters he has a Bachelor of Science in Geology and a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction.

Two years ago – in 2016 – he retired in 2016  – after teaching biology, mathematics and physics at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Greater Vancouver for 24 years.

So his professional life was in the sciences.

But he married that with his other passions – creativity.

He often still gives lecturers. His most recent one was on Dinosaurs.

Along with the sciences, his interests include acting, photography, military history, and wine-making. He has visited Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, the Society Islands, the Tuamotu atolls, and the Galapagos Islands, as well as five of the Hawaiian Islands.

His appearances as an actor have varied.

Among them, he has appeared in Fiddler on the Roof,  Twelfth Night, Camelot.

He got the acting and singing bug when he was in high school – appearing in Annie Get Your Gun, Sound of Music,  to mention a few.
