Good morning:

Today I am going to share something with you that normally I wouldn’t.

But the time has come to let everyone know what kind of successful assholes social media often creates and perpetuates.

So meet Paul Logan. He is, to put it mildly, a real jerk. But being a jerk has made him millions and millions of dollars and millions and millions of followers.

And to say there is only one successful social media star like Logan would be a lie.

But now Morgan has gone too far and and his biggest social media outlet has taken drastic action.

And it’s about time.

Cooking is one of my passions. I am always on the lookout for new recipes and also recipes that are easy. And this one-pan balsamic chicken with vegetables knocks it out of the park.
I tried it and it was amazing.

THE DARK DARK SOCIAL MEDIA APOCALYPSE IS UPON US AND IT WILL CREATE CONFUSION AND CHAOS

THE STORY

Aviv Ovadya is a technologist.
But he is a technologist with a difference – he has an uncanny ability to take various threads of information, study them and then come up with a coherent intelligent theory.
And, boy, did he ever.
And that theory eluded all the top business people, journalists, lawmakers and of course, the big chief executive officers of the big tech and social media sites.
Simply put – he warned – that in our high tech world our society was vulnerable to mass manipulation, lies, propaganda and society as a whole was not aware of it.
What was central to all this manipulation was that facts – a sacred trust of how our world operates – were no longer facts but made up information that were supposed to be facts – but were not.
So he coined the phrase fake news.
And now here comes the scary part. He says – and it already is happening – there is something more sinister affecting our daily lives and should scare the hell out of us – the Information Apocalypse.

THE SETTING

The troubles – and they will become more pressing in the years ahead -started started two years ago when Facebook realized it was hell deep into a disaster that shook the company and the world.
And the scope, extent and how prevalent fake news is evident in Facebook’s 50 biggest fake news stories from last year, a sharp increase when compared with 2016.
If you want to get an idea of what is posted on Facebook; a former Facebook moderator charged with looking at content to decide whether it was suitable to appear on the site tells it all and it is not pretty.

WHAT IT MEANS

Unilever, a multi-national consumer products company that spend $9 billion in advertising has made it clear that social media companies that don’t clean up their act will have to do without Unilever’s ads.
And to add to the growing problems social media sites, a group of former executives from these companies have formed a group to combat what they call the hidden dangers of social media addiction.

TRUDEAU, CABINET MINISTERS PROMISE CHANGES IN THE WAKE OF BOUSHIE DEATH

The family of the slain Colton Boushie is hopeful after meeting with the prime minister and several cabinet ministers in Ottawa.
Hopeful that there will be changes in the inflamed aftermath of him being shot to death and the man responsible for it – Saskatchewan farmer Gerald Stanley – not found guilty.

A NEW RADICAL LOOK – THE OBAMA’S OFFICIAL PORTRAITS

Former U.S. presidents and first ladies – once they leave office – have their portraits painted.
And these portraits are hung in the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C.
These portaits – in the past – have been pretty traditional and straightforward.
But not in the case of the Obama’s.

SIX CANADIAN HOCKEY PLAYERS – NOW KOREANS AND MEMBER OF THEIR OLYMPIC TEAM

Meet part of South Korea’s Olympic hockey team.

There are six of them.

They are all former Canadians but today they have Korean citizenship.

Find out why and how.
