Trump Treats Canada Like Dirt

Trump Treats Canada Like Dirt

Trump treats Canada like dirt and it was so evident during the NAFTA talks.

The childlike Trump is nothing but a narcissistic bully.

Consider what Trump did during the year-long NAFTA negotiations.

He attacked us.

Lied about us.

Belittled us.

Threw taunts at us.

Threatened us.

And a once-valued and special relationship between the two countries is gone.

But Trump always stays true to form.

First he flatters you, all designed to lull you into thinking – dealing with him will be pretty easy.

That’s what he did with Canada when the NAFTA talks started.

“No two countries share deeper or broader relations than Canada and the United States. We are bound together by our history, our values, our economy, our environment, and our resolve to improve the lives of our citizens.

Our close relationship and ongoing collaboration allow us to successfully meet any challenges we may face over the coming years, and to build a prosperous future for the people of both countries.”

Trump called Prime Minister Trudeau a great guy.

It reached the point where media commentators referred to the relationship between Trump and Trudeau as a bromance.

But that did not last long.

Toddler Trump did not get his way over NAFTA with Canada.

So he double crossed Canada with Mexico’s help.

And when he realized Canada was not going to be a big pushover he started getting nasty.

Just consider what he said about Canada and Trudeau.

”PM Justin Trudeau of Canada acted so meek and mild during our @G7 meetings only to give a news conference after I left saying that, ‘US Tariffs were kind of insulting’ and he ‘will not be pushed around.’ Very dishonest & weak. Our Tariffs are in response to his of 270% on dairy!”

Trump Belittles Canada

“Canada has been very difficult to deal with … they’re very spoiled.”

“We lose a lot with Canada. People don’t know it. Canada is very smooth.

“They have you believe that it’s wonderful. And it is. For them. Not wonderful for us. It’s wonderful for them. So we have to start showing that we know what we’re doing.”

“Canada does not treat us right.”

“We will not stand for this. Watch!”

“Canada’s health care system is catastrophic.”

He threatened to punish “the people of Canada.”

“That’s going to cost a lot of money for the people of Canada. He learned. You can’t do that. You can’t do that.”

And his mouthpieces aped him publicly.

“There’s a special place in hell for any foreign leader (Trudeau) that engages in bad faith diplomacy with President Donald J Trump and then tries to stab him in the back on the way out the door,” said Peter Navarro, Trump’s trade adviser.

Trump’s top economic adviser Larry Kudlow hurled insults at Trudeau saying he went “rogue,” and a backstabbing “betrayal” after Trudeau gave a press conference after the G7 meeting, which Trump left in a huff.

So after all the rhetoric by Trump on NAFTA what did he achieve with his bullying, name calling and posturing?

Not much.

And yet he treats dictatorships such as North Korea, Russia and Saudi Arabia better than us.

Go figure.
