White House calls Trudeau little punk kid running Canada, a senior adviser to Trump says.
Larry Kudlow made the remarks in a closed speech to a group of conservatives in New York.
Kudlow is Trump’s senior economic adviser.
The speech was at an invitation-only dinner hosted by the American Spectator, a conservative magazine.
The speech was reported by the Washington Examiner, a conservative newspaper with close ties to Trump’s White House.
“A friend of mine in the White House, who will go unnamed, said, ‘You know, I know why you’re supporting this deal Larry, it’s because we made a deal.
“We didn’t walk away, we didn’t end it, we made a deal. Alright?
“Spite that little punk kid running Canada, we still made it,’” Kudlow said.
He was referring to Justin Trudeau.
“And I’ve had some wonderful run-ins with him.”
Kudlow did not name the person who said it.
White House Calls Trudeau Little Punk Kid
However, given what was said and how it was said the consensus is that it was none other than Donald Trump.
Trump and his aides, including Kudlow, hurled public insults at Trudeau during the contentious negotiations on the future of the North American Free Trade Agreement.
And they have insulted Trudeau before by treating him like dirt.
Kudlow accused Trudeau of going “rogue,” and a backstabbing “betrayal” after the prime minister gave a press conference after last year’s G7 meeting in Quebec City.
He did so after Trump left in a huff.
“There’s a special place in hell for any foreign leader (Trudeau) that engages in bad faith diplomacy with President Donald J Trump and then tries to stab him in the back on the way out the door,” said Peter Navarro, Trump’s trade adviser shortly after the G7 meeting..
All of this is just another example of bully Trump belittling people and being nasty about them.
So what else is new?
